A jobsite based industrial medical facility reduces high medical costs by properly caring for injuries, effectively minimizing doctor cases and controlling lost time injuries. Computerized medical records provide management with statistical injury analysis along with comprehensive medical records maintained for OSHA and Worker's Compensation.
I.S.H., Inc. provides a centralized medical facility available to all contractors that is stocked with over thirty thousand dollars of equipment and supplies. This facility is staffed by state or nationally certified medical personnel (R.N., Paramedic, or EMT) and is ready only days after a client's request. All equipment and staff exceed OSHA regulations. Medical practices meet with physician approval following treatment protocols. The cost of this facility is shared equally by the contractors allowing every worker the finest on site medical services available including:
- FIRST AID TREATMENT OF MINOR INJURIES AND ILLNESSES - a centrally
located facility stocked with the necessary
equipment and supplies will be on site and
staffed by qualified medical personnel. It will
handle the day-to-day minor medical complaints
of workers and report all potentially hazardous
situations to safety personnel.
- EMERGENCY RESPONSE TO FIELD EMERGENCIES - A vehicle is maintained on
site containing emergency response equipment
(e.g., backboards, trauma kit, etc.). This will
arrive at the scene with equipment necessary to
treat injuries and package the patient for
transport.
- DOCTOR CASE FOLLOW UP -
A medical network is established with local
doctors and hospitals so all employees receive
proper treatment. Communication between jobsite
medical personnel and the doctor is essential to
controlling Lost Time Cases.
- COMPUTERIZED RECORD KEEPING - Retrieval and compilation of
information is accurate. Fast and easily managed
through the introduction of the on-line service
of occupational health data management.
Quantitative data establishes patterns and
trends so that problem areas can be addressed.
Incident rates are maintained allowing
Management to gauge jobsite safety performance
against projected goals. Safety Performance
Measurements of this kind are an essential tool
in any safety program. They are used to motivate
everyone to attain safety objectives and
maximize program effectiveness. Clients will be
granted limited rights to access (read-only)
their own companies' data. Information available
will be items such as drug screen results,
pulmonary function test, respirator medical
qualification results and audiometric exam
results, just to name a few.
- ON-SITE MEDICAL SURVEILLANCE TESTING - OSHA guidelines for
respiratory protection require respiratory
physicals certified by a physician, pulmonary
function testing is provided as a diagnostic
tool thus providing the physician a more
comprehensive exam. Quantative or Qualitative
Respirator Fit Testing is also available. The
guidelines for hearing conservation require
baseline and annual audiometric testing.
Possible exposure to certain hazardous materials
requires biological monitoring. We offer both
baseline, as well as post-exposure and periodic
testing. We will contract with a physician to
come on site to review all testing when
applicable, as well as perform physical
examinations for wellness programs and for
compliance with federal, state, local and
company programs.
- SUBSTANCE ABUSE SCREENING - On-site collection of urine
specimens for NIDA/ SAMSHA approved laboratory
analysis as well as testing for any illegal
substance detectable utilizing Department of
Health and Hospitals Methodology is available.
Evidential Breath Alcohol Testing in accordance
with Department of Transportation procedures is
available. All medical personal maintain D.O.T.
certification for collection of urine specimens.
We are available for and will comply with the
Project Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
